Community Ministry
I also love being an active part of the community and am truly blessed by the good people in Lambton County. God has allowed me opportunities to show love by participating in community events that help bring people together. I believe sharing and working together are foundational to healthy society and to God's will for all people. Perhaps nothing speaks of this more in my life than the calling God laid on my heart since a teenager and more vividly in 2004, to serve people through the ministry of pastoring. I truly care about people's souls and where they are in their journey towards Christ. New Horizons Community Church graciously affirmed this calling, supported me and helped me in my growth and development as a servant leader and pastor. I am in deep gratitude for their love and guidance. I am humbled by the opportunity to share God's Word with others and praise Him for the continual ways I see his power and love displayed in the lives of people. I serve this purpose through preaching, meeting people one on one and leading small groups, where people can support one another in their faith. I also lead a local Men's Ministry called "The Phalanx" which encourages men to be better and we try to be a positive influence in the community with events like Skate-A-Palooza and The Wild Game Night. Currently our family is serving at Lakeshore Community Church in Brights Grove, Ontario.
I have also enjoyed serving the community through music, and my love for music started in my childhood. My parents fostered an encouraging environment for me to grow and I was blessed to receive excellent instruction under the late Art Christmas while at St. Clair Secondary School. I have used these gifts to give back to our community in local churches. Leading worship services and performing at events such as the Sarnia Kinsmen Christmas Parade of Lights and the Celebration of Lights Opening Ceremonies. I also joined the Celebration of Lights Board of Directors in 2016 and serve in other ways such as planning, set up/teardown and running our local residential Christmas Light Competition. In 2018, I entered into two contract positions with Promise Keepers Canada. First as a Facilitator ( workshop speaker ) and also as the Sarnia/Lambton Network leader. This ministry strives to support and encourage men in their faith, their commitment to their families, work and integrity.
